Murray is back on track for Brisbane 2019

Andy Murray: “I’m getting more powerful every day and will be ready for 2019.”

Tennis Today – November 8, 2018

Former world primary Andy Murray has provided an upgrade on his fitness, insisting he is feeling much better every day and will be ready for his 2019 season opener in Brisbane.

Murray made erratic looks on the ATP trip in the back-end of 2018 as he worked his way back from a year on the shelf due to hip surgical treatment.

He cut that resurgence short though, swearing to spend the time preparing himself for 2019 instead, and he has issued an update on those strategies from his base in Philadelphia.

” I’m feeling physically a bit better every day,” he informed the Brisbane International. “It’s undoubtedly been a hard year with the hip injury, but I’m getting closer.

” I’ve still got a couple of months to get myself in the best shape for the start of the competition.”

” I’m planning on getting to Brisbane early this year.

” Before then, I’m going to do my off-season training in Miami, three or four weeks working in the hot weather there and spending quality time on the court to prepare yourself.

” I’m eagerly anticipating playing in Brisbane once again, and ideally I can perform well.”
